Those that know me – know I love to travel, especially if it involves watching hounds. I like to visit; meet hunting friends, I have to say I am not that sociable at a meet (which is not my nature) but because there is only a small window in which to take photographs and then give you “the audience” a flavour of what we enjoy in the countryside. I particularly like the standards in hunting. Hunt staff are renowned for being meticulous on turn out. Notice the cut of the Kennel Huntsman’s coat. There is a wonderful photographer called Ian Lawson who spent some time in the Hebrides, documenting the landscape, the people and particularly Harris Tweed. If you get a chance you must take a look at the book he published with the delightful title “From the Land comes the Cloth”. I hope we never loose these very British Traditions and whatever your coat – just cut your cloth accordingly and “come hunting” – I love it!
